KastKing Paradox 4.5” Braid Scissors Review

This is a brief review of the KastKing Paradox 4.5” Braid Scissors. I like to keep multiple bags and boxes for different species and fishing techniques. While fine-tuning my trout bag recently—and thanks to my girlfriend (who’s in veterinary school) for gifting me a spare pair of hemostats—I realized all I needed was a small pair of scissors.

I’m a big fan of KastKing when I’m after something affordable that still holds up well. Their gear isn’t something I’d be too upset about if I eventually wear it out or lose it, and these scissors, priced at under $10, were perfect for my minimal trout outings with spinning tackle.

The scissors feature KastKing’s trademark orange color and a comfortable rubberized grip that fits nicely in my hand. I especially appreciate the included sheath, which keeps them safely stored in my bag without damaging my gear or risking a cut when I reach in blindly. They also come with an unusually long lanyard—about three times as long as necessary—but I’m sure that’ll come in handy when I’m fumbling around in my bag.

I haven’t used them long enough to fully assess their durability, but so far they cut fluoro, mono, and braid with ease—ideal for the 8-pound test they’ll face.

Overall, these are a very nifty pair of braid scissors that won’t break the bank. I appreciate the little added features, and I won’t be too heartbroken when I eventually lose them!
